Letters from Mme. de Sévigné to various friends, mainly to Mme. de Grignan, dated 1671-1690, copied by Mme. Lavoisier from manuscripts owned by Abbé Barthellemé. Also includes a copy of a letter from Mme. de Maintenon to the Duke of Richelieu (1690) and a copy of part of a letter by M. de Brancas about the first edition (published 1726) of Mme. de Sévigné's letters. Notes at bottom of some pages refer to an 1806 edition of the letters.
